Mosquitoes are universally acknowledged as bothersome pests, adept at transforming serene evenings into unpleasant experiences both in residential and commercial spaces. Thriving predominantly in areas with stagnant water, these insects lay their eggs and rapidly proliferate in birdbaths, plant saucers, neglected pools, and clogged drains, thus exploiting even the smallest water accumulation to nurture their offspring.

In residential environments, mosquitoes are more than a mere nuisance, often disrupting outdoor family gatherings and recreational activities. Commercially, especially in areas dedicated to hospitality, dining, or retail, they can deter clientele, posing significant risks to customer satisfaction and business reputation.

These pervasive pests are most prevalent during warmer months, notably frequenting our spaces during dawn and dusk, though not exclusively. The combination of their rapid breeding cycles, adaptability, and insidious nature propels them to a top-tier threat, demanding persistent and professional pest control interventions.

Residential Infestations of Mosquitoes

  • Bites: The most telltale sign is itchy mosquito bites, often appearing as swollen red spots.

  • Buzzing Sound: At night, especially when it's quiet, you might hear the characteristic high-pitched buzzing of mosquitoes.

  • Sightings: While mosquitoes are more active during dawn and dusk, you might spot them at other times, resting on walls or ceilings.

  • Breeding Grounds: Check for stagnant water sources around your home, like clogged gutters or unused containers. Larvae or "wigglers" can often be seen swimming just below the surface of such stagnant waters.

Commercial Infestations of Mosquitoes

  • Bites: One of the most immediate signs is frequent mosquito bites. These are often red, itchy, and may swell up. If occupants complain of frequent bites, especially after dusk or dawn, it's a clear sign of mosquito activity.

  • Active Sightings: While mosquitoes are most active during dawn and dusk, they can be seen at other times too. If customers or property residents notice mosquitoes flying around indoors, there's likely an infestation.

  • Larvae Presence: Mosquitoes breed in stagnant water. Check for any standing water sources, such as plant saucers, clogged drains, buckets, or any water-holding containers. Larvae, often referred to as "wigglers," can be seen swimming just below the water surface. Their presence confirms an active breeding site.

  • Buzzing Sounds: Mosquitoes produce a characteristic high-pitched buzzing sound, especially noticeable in quieter environments. If customers mention hearing this sound, especially during nighttime, it indicates mosquito activity.

  • Resting Spots: During the day, mosquitoes tend to rest in cool, damp, and dark places. This can include areas like closets, under sinks, or in laundry areas. Inspecting these places can often lead to finding resting mosquitoes.

Breeding Grounds Outside: Examine the external property for potential breeding grounds, such as poorly drained areas, bird baths, old tires, or rain gutters. Even small amounts of stagnant water can be suitable for mosquito breeding.
